Love River

Love suffers in ways deep
Before it buds and bloom;
The day will surely creep
After a night of gloom.

May the sun always rise
Warmest upon your face;
May the waters turn nice
Leading you thru’ life’s race.

Don’t you cry my dear pal
Lest i do not understand;
In all the grieves and trials
Love tends a helping hand.

I can’t find a better word
Nor greater is my heart wish;
Than to pray to the lord
To spare you life’s skirmish.

How often we do wonder
As sorrow brings foe;
How often we do squander
Our life in awe and woe.

This is the best we can do
Now, do hold me forever;
Love conquers and lets us go
Together to sail on its river.
