Vow of Love

My life stretched before me,

My world’s broken apart.

I thought I’ve paid the fee

That’s needed to win a heart.

I thought I can understand

The heartaches I left behind.

The love I held in my hand

Vanished and I lost my mind.

I thought I reached the end,

My soul, with owe, is bent.

In you, I’ve found a friend

That The Lord to me has sent.

You said : do lift up your eyes,

Don’t let your heart grow cold.

Hold onto my hand and do rise,

United, we shape our life in gold.

With tears in my eyes, I’ve said:

Your kind grace already foretold

Of your beauty, in my heart, laid.

In gratitude, to your love, I’m sold.

I’ve neither diamonds nor gold,

Nor wealth unto you so to bestow;

But I do pledge your love to hold,

And to stick to you toe to toe.
