I tried to live within the now,
And free my heart from bondage.
I tried learning love know-how,
But tides helped not the salvage.
I struggled with mixed emotions,
And oft prayed for a ray of hope;
Looking for love with devotion,
I learned to persevere and cope.
I sensed life’s sorrowful pitfalls,
The heart with your love enflame;
I felt a brush of reviving of souls,
Penetrating deep with due claim.
I huddled with your rare beauty,
Divine whirl of the artist palette;
I grappled in awe, homage and duty,
Dwelling the heart not the wallet.
You consoled my eyes full of tears,
Through life’s shades and shadows;
You guided me gently over the years,
To your love sweet green meadows.
The great masters of creative art,
In your praise failed and stumbled;
Lest they’ve lived the broken heart,
Of a lover, in your beauty, be humbled.
