Feud of my Heart & Mind

Bet’n shady trees and meadowlands,
Through all the silver lakes and streams,
Your image is reflected and stands,
Behind and beyond my fondest dreams.

Within the feud of my heart and mind,
To the Lord, in prayer, I lowly have bent,
My head facing lofty schemes and wind,
Refused to my heart, your love be sent.

I swung in mood from smile to pout,
I suffered the days before the nights,
I lived empty like juggles in the spout,
The struggle is on, so are the fights.

One day, a faint sound of reviving rain,
Shadowed over the hills and the valleys,
My heart and my mind in harmony again,
Joined hands to fight the many follies.

In hope, I saw your love in the flowers,
And in every living loving face and smile,
I relive the fantasy with reality’s powers,
Now, I’m blessed no more deceit or guile.

With you, all my days are from the Lord,
In many watercolors bright and chilled.
I enjoy our love, togetherness and accord,
And praise Him for every dream fulfilled.
